Why did the Rambam live in Egypt if he himself Bans it according to Halacha? [closed]

Why did the Rambam live in Egypt when he himself Paskens that one may not return to live in Egypt because of the Posuk that says 'you shall not return'?

I once heard that the Issur is only to return to Mitzrayim using the exact same route (in reverse - including through the Yam Suf) that the Yidden took when leaving.

After doing more research I found this article, a fascinating read. It says that allegedly the Rambam used to sign off by writing 'the one who is Oiver on the Issur of Yishuv Mitzrayim'. This thory is refuted though.
