The Halacha is that it must be the left shoulder because that it is Atifas Yishmaeilim. So why do many people do the right and sometimes both, is it Am Haraatzes?
Why do people when putting on a Talis swing it over the right shoulder?
In ספר ×ž× ×”×’ ישר×ל תורה - סימן ×— it is brought down that according to Reb Saddya Gaon the reason to swing over the left is to be מתקן for the Yetzer Harah. According to the Radvaz in order to be מתקן for the Yetzer Harah you need to swing over both sides so he is surrounded by Mitzvas.
1 impossible, the פסקי תשובות specifically says from the Zohar not to. Can you bring it down please? - AlexAug 10 '12 at 01:25
