Does it say anywhere that Dovid Hamelech was a forefather as well. And that is why the Mishnah in Bava Kama says 4 Ovois Nezikin? Sounds like a joke but I think it is Kabalah. Can anyone show me where this is?
where does it say that Dovid Hamelech is the fourth Forefather [closed]
I dont know who the forth father is, but there definately are four. Otherwise why would they be called the fourfathers?!?

Yosef is refered to as the fourth forefather. This is hinted to as his death is recorded in Bereishis while the rest of his brothers' deaths are recorded in Shemos.
Yosef was the fourth father - he is the only one of the original 12 Shvatim whose death is recorded in Sefer Beraishis like the 1st 3 Avos. His 2 sons were on the same level as his brothers and were considered part of the Shvatim (taking over the 2 empty spots for Levi and Yosef) and just as the 1st 3 Avos were credited with being Missaken Shachris Mincha and Maariv - Yosef is credited with Mussaf.

The Noam Elimelech (look in the index for the correct chapter where he speaks about it, I havent got one here) says that Dovid Hamelech is considered a fourth forefather! However I dont think he means that he was as great, just that he had a fourth Maaleh which we solidifed it all! As far as I can remember he brings the Mishnah in Bava Kama is a proof but explains what it has to do with Damage and is therefore in that Mishnah!
