Why does the Gemoro say that 40 days before a person is born a Bas Kol calls out, "The daughter of Ploni is destined for Ploni". Why not say "The daughter of Ploni is destined for Ben Ploni"? why is the girl referred to as a daughter and the boy as a person is his own right!

This could be because a girl is in her fathers hands to marry off and he can decide to whom and even accept the money for kiddushin for her, so she doesnt get married in her own right! The boy however does all the choosing himself so we refer to him himself!

This could be because a girl is an extension of her family, and is molded in the way her father has chosen to bring her up. The honor of a princess is to stay indoors, so it is her family that she emulates! A boy however is out and about and learns about life from his surroundings as well, for example his Rebbe and yeshiva!
